UPDATE: Meet Peanut our 3 1/2 year old foster, she is hoping her fur- friends ...can help her. Peanut has Chronic Keratoconjuntivis Sicca, and for her it's
a very severe case of it. Her tear ducts in both eyes are not working at
all, without surgery she will live a life of pain and go blind. The surgery
she HAD is called Parotid Duct Transposition, it's a surgical procedure to move the outflow of the salivary gland in her mouth to each of her eyes. The saliva will be stimulated to produce "tears" each time she eats. Her eyes will never be normal and she will still need drops a couple of times a day, but hopefully with surgery she will live a life free of pain. As you can guess this surgery was expensive, and being a small rescue group this took most of our resources.
Peanut's surgery was August 26, 2015 and she was hoping that her fur-friends would be willing to give up a treat
or two, and donate to her surgery fund. We are a 501c3 non-profit group
and all donations are tax-deductible. Your donation can be made out to
GRoNY with a note "Peanut's Fund," please mail it to: GreyHound Rescue of New York, Inc. PO Box 1527 Clifton Park,
New York 12065 Peanut thanks you and understands that money is tight, if you can't send anything please remember her in your prayers.
